How To Manage Leads For Local Service Ads (LSA) or Google Guarantee

Local Service Ads, or Google Guarantee Ads, are part of the Google Ads platform but work differently. Here’s a straightforward breakdown:

Local ads are directly linked to your Google Business Profile. These ads show up above the Google search results, for example, when someone searches for carpet cleaners in Durham, your Business profile will appear with a green tick mark, showing that your business is verified and is Guaranteed by Google showing them options to message or call the Business.

How to Check & Manage Leads

You will typically receive leads via phone calls or messages.

  • Phone Calls: These will come directly to the phone number listed on your Google Business Profile.

  • Messages: These will be sent to your email with a link. Clicking the link in the email will take you to the user's message, where you can respond.

There are no issues with phone call leads, as Google automatically reviews them. You won’t be charged for spam leads. However, if you receive phone calls from outside your service area that is not listed on your Google Business Profile, you can request a refund if charged for that lead. Contact us for further assistance with this.

Most messages will include a contact number, so it’s generally best to call the customer after replying to their message rather than waiting for a response. In some cases, there may not be any contact details, and you might have to wait for the customer to reply—which isn’t guaranteed. If you start receiving many messages without contact details and no responses, we can disable the messaging option, allowing customers to contact you only by phone.

If you or someone on your team regularly checks the portal or emails, you can bookmark the link and check any new leads here: https://ads.google.com/localservices/. You will also receive email notifications whenever a new message comes in.

Currently, there is an app for managing leads, but Google will be discontinuing the app from January 2025. After that, you’ll only be able to access leads via the website.
