How to Send a Password Reset Email in WordPress

Method 1: From the WordPress Login Page

  1. Go to your site’s login page: yoursite.com/wp-login.php
  2. Click Lost your password?
  3. Enter the username or email address linked to the account.
  4. Click Get New Password.
    → WordPress will send a password reset link to the registered email.
    → The user clicks the link and sets a new password.

Method 2: From the WordPress Admin Dashboard (for admins)

  1. Log in to your WordPress Admin Dashboard.

  2. Go to Users > All Users.

  3. Find the user who needs a password reset and click Edit.

  4. Scroll down to the Account Management section.

  5. Click Send Reset Link (or set a new password manually).
    → The user will receive an email with a password reset link.


Method 3: Forcing a Password Reset (no access to email)

If the user doesn’t have email access:

  1. Go to Users > All Users.

  2. Edit the user and set a new password in the New Password field.

  3. Save changes and share the new password securely.
